Steve entered the Real Estate business in 2004 after having been in the field of Education for over 28 years as a Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent. He started with Century 21, and quickly moved to RE/MAX after recognizing the opportunities for high producers. The business agreed with him, and within 4 years he had his Broker's license and purchased the RE/MAX franchise in Binghamton. This was a natural move given his love for the business, and his administrative background. Because Steve believes in local ownership of business, he merged RE/MAX with the McKinney agency to bring his business efforts closer in line with the community. After three years working as a partner Steve realized that he wanted to concentrate on sales and focus on his own clients- he was ready to let someone else run the company. Steve is now with EXIT Realty Homeward Bound in Vestal, and the company is run by one of his former students from Vestal High School where Steve was Principal. He is proud to be assoiciated with the EXIT Franchise and happy to follow the leadership of this organization. Real Estate is "local," and with this company he has the best of all worlds.
As a former teacher and educator Steve has always been a continuous learner. As a result he has earned many Real Estate Designations in order to better understand the business. Steve has always been impressed with the quality of the teachers who provide the instruction for these courses, and he has never left a course wondering why he was there. In the complex business of Real Estate there is always something to learn. Steve's education has led him to become very involved with the Greater Binghamton Association of Realtors and through this involvement he has served as the President of the Board in 2009, and now he chairs the Government Affairs Committee and the RPAC Committee. Involvement with the Realtor Community is very important to understanding the Real Estate business.
On a personal note, Steve is married and lives in Vestal, NY with his wife, Christine, and their daughter Melanie. They love to travel and they have been to Equador, Beliez, India, and Costa Rica. Steve is also a member of Rotary International where he chairs the International Student Exchange program enabling students to spend time abroad diuring thier high school years. Other than that he enjoys good food ( he and his wife are Vegan), gardening, and good wine. I also have been seen at the gym 2-3 times a week trying to keep in shape.
